Fiona & Dominik, a spring wedding in Tuscany
Fiona and Dominik came all the way from Germany to get married on the gentle hills facing Laterina, in the heart of Tuscany.
For this reason they chose a place where time slows down, light becomes softer, and every detail feels deeply connected to the landscape, do you remember the soft light in the Appartamento Il Falegname I posted some days ago?
Their wedding day unfolded during a warm spring afternoon, surrounded by the quiet beauty of the Valdarno countryside. An intimate setting, at the Antiche Dimore di Poggianto — the kind of place that allows emotions to take center stage, helped by Marina, who speaks German fluently.
Before the ceremony, Fiona prepared herself calmly, taking care of every small gesture. She even ironed her wedding dress herself, a simple and powerful moment that perfectly reflected the spirit of the day: intentional, personal, real.
The couple chose to share a first look before the ceremony, creating a private space just for the two of them. No audience, no expectations, above all only the emotion of seeing each other for the first time as bride and groom. Moments like these are at the heart of my approach to wedding photography: allowing couples to experience their day fully, without interruptions.
After the first look we continued with a relaxed photo session before the ceremony, using the warm Tuscan light and the natural textures of the surroundings to create timeless, honest images. Photographing before the ceremony gave Fiona and Dominik the freedom to be present later, without rushing or distractions.
Getting married in Tuscany is often about more than a destination. It’s about choosing an atmosphere, a rhythm, and a way of living the day. Fiona and Dominik embraced all of this, creating a wedding that felt intimate, emotional, and deeply connected to the place they had chosen.
As a wedding photographer in Tuscany, telling stories like theirs — quietly, respectfully, and with attention to real moments — is what drives my work.
